26 Nov Wed – Christ the King

Voice: Shivdas

Today is Wednesday, 26th of November. Whether you are in your room, driving or taking public transport, take a moment to be aware of His presence wherever you are.

We read Psalm 110, as we observe the Feast of Christ our King for this week:

The Lord says to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”

The Lord sends forth from Zion
    your mighty scepter.
    Rule in the midst of your enemies!
Your people will offer themselves freely
    on the day of your power,
    in holy garments;
from the womb of the morning,
    the dew of your youth will be yours.
The Lord has sworn
    and will not change his mind,
“You are a priest forever
    after the order of Melchizedek.”

The Lord is at your right hand;
    he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.
He will execute judgment among the nations,
    filling them with corpses;
he will shatter chiefs
    over the wide earth.
He will drink from the brook by the way;
    therefore he will lift up his head.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as It was in the beginning, is
now, and shall be forever. Amen.

Matthew 10:26-33

26 “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

This is the Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God

We celebrated Christ the King this past Sunday. God our King sees everything, for “nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.”

Evil festers in darkness. Injustice tightens its grip when it goes unseen. We fear what lurks out of sight. We fear those who act without accountability. We fear the dark whispers that shape our future and render us helpless.

We know too well what unfolds in cities as the night deepens—when men and women cast off restraint and pursue their darkest desires, and the vulnerable are harmed, especially women and children.

But here is God’s promise: everything hidden will be exposed, and every evil act will be judged in His time. We need not fear the powerful of this world, for their power is temporary and limited. Only One holds authority over both body and soul—and He reigns.

And this same King watches over you.
Even the hairs of your head are numbered.
His light fills every corner of your life.

So—do not fear anyone else.

If you feel yourself drawn toward the shadows, ask the Lord to shine His light into your heart and drive away every seed of evil. Take a quiet moment to seek His forgiveness.

Will you pray for those who are trapped in darkness, who long for deliverance but do not yet know the Light?

And will you once again place your trust in the King—
the King who will reign over all,
the King who knows you,
the King who keeps you,
the King whose light no darkness can overcome?

We pray the Collect for Christ the King

Eternal Father,
whose Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven
that he might rule over all things as Lord and King:
keep the Church in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace,
and bring the whole created order to worship at his feet;
who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Be blessed by this hymn, Crown Him with many crowns.

1 Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne.
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless king
through all eternity.

2 Crown him the Lord of life,
who triumphed o’er the grave,
and rose victorious in the strife
for those he came to save;
his glories now we sing
who died and rose on high,
who died eternal life to bring,
and lives that death may die.

3 Crown him the Lord of love;
behold his hands and side,
rich wounds, yet visible above,
in beauty glorified;
no angels in the sky
can fully bear that sight,
but downward bends their burning eye
at mysteries so bright.

4 Crown him the Lord of years,
the potentate of time,
creator of the rolling spheres,
ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
for thou hast died for me;
thy praise shall never, never fail
throughout eternity.
